Personally, meditation isn't about tackling every thought that runs across the field of your brain.
I keep my practice simple and zoom in on awareness vs. emptiness.
Awareness in the context of meditation = building the ability to notice when your thoughts have seduced your attention… and gently without judgement, returning ourselves back to center.
What if that “returning” happens fifty'leven times in 5min? Without a fucking doubt, that is still meditation.
